How to Add a Twitter Profile Picture

Twitter is a social networking tool in which users provide real-time information updates through 140-character messages, called "tweets." After creating an account, new users can set their profile picture. Here are the steps to add a Twitter profile picture.
  1. 1
Log on to your Twitter home page. If you are using the old version of Twitter, click on the "Settings" link in the top right corner of your screen. You'll know if you're using the old version, because there will be a message at the top that says, "You are using an old version of Twitter."
  2. 2
Click on the "Profile" link on the horizontal menu on your settings page.
  3. 3
Find a picture of the egg. That is your default profile picture. Click the "Browse" button next to the egg to upload a new picture.
  4. 4
Locate the file containing the picture you want to upload, and select it using your mouse or arrow keys. Press the "Enter" key.
  5. 5
Click the blue "Save" button on the bottom of your screen. Wait for your picture to upload. Depending on your Internet connection speed and the traffic level on Twitter, this can take a few minutes.
  6. 6
View the profile picture when it appears on the screen. If you need to upload a new or edited version of your picture, click the "Change Image" button to upload a new photo.
